ummm awkward?
Pity Date. I swore I would never, ever go on one...and of course I broke that.
His name was Ken a fellow from Toronto who caught me off guard and I couldn't offer a decent excuse to say no. Nice enough guy just really straight laced. Uber political and a lapsed Catholic, he did challenge me intellectually for the evening.
Only problem was when he brought up masturbation and how I should look into it being a virgin and all. Apparently we all have a sex drive that runs our lives? Who knew? I pretty much curled up and died on the inside. My come back was to ask him about his financial situation and disclose all said facts. He hemmed and hawed then finally said it was none of my business. I replied that was how I felt about sex. Good ol'twenty second silence followed the last remark. I considered hitting him over his head with a beer and making good my escape. Decided to look demurely at my finger nails.
Poor soul didn't have much of a sense of humour either. He missed alot of my jokes and laughed at the one bad one I even cringed inwardly for. Worst part was the desperate escape at the car when he tried to kiss me. Gah! I am such a moron. I should learn that word 'no' will save many people worlds of trouble. It didn't help I got an email the next day from him saying how he thought we would make a good couple and I should visit him soon. oh, p.s. what perfume were you wearing I really liked it. *shudder*
Okay, our hero has learned to say 'no' so I excercised my veto power in a reply email. Mwa ha ha the power to crush hearts with simple black markings on a page has made me drunk with power! So look out future suitors I to can break you with a few typed words.
