I've Been Converted..Again!
I loves to travel. I also like to talk to people while I travel. This past weekend on the way to Kansas I talked to Phil from Omaha Nebraska. What I didn't realize was that Phil was trying to convert me to Christianity till later on in the conversation. I even got a tract! I'll have to scan it and put it on here. It's in cartoon form! Apparently sin is a poo like rain that fell on adam and eve after the apple incident. And forever after humanity was covered in poo.
Anyways, I enjoyed Phil and his earnest effort. I was able to answer his Christianese question of 'do you know the Lord?' with an affirmative. He seemed a little disappointed that I said yes. Then I was a little disappointed that I wasn't seen as a Christian. I think what may have thrown him was my piercings? Who knows. I had a grand time talking about his family and what he thinks of the world. Very conservative man who has homeschooled his family and sees the world as full of demons. I think we bothed challenged each others world views. But boy, I can understand why some people are a wee bit put off by the evangelical zealous types. If I hadn't known where Phil was coming from after he started to talk about hating homosexuals I'm pretty sure he would've had a bruise. Thankfully he talked about how he's come to 'love the sinner but hate the sin'. God Bless Phil.
On a lighter note I had a kickin time with my sister in Lawrence Kansas. Rented a Chrysler Sebring convertible and got whistled at by 18 year olds. We rock.
So does the schools weird chant. KU likes to say 'Rock Chalk' when spurring their teams to victory...odd.
