Shins? No way...

Yep, After the aforementioned bad mood I've recovered. Well somewhat. I'm still prone to elitest thoughts, paranoia, self imposed anitsocialism and self indulgent ice cream binges. But hey who isn't? right? Please say yes... ( oh and my link thingy didn't work it's www.pitchforkmedia.com for us crazed rock snobs)

Speaking of snob rock...I was in Lawrence Kansas visiting my very lovely sister. I got to case the Mass' Street area which is a long street with all sorts of cool shops and university city vibe. After spending a few hours in and out of used clothing stores and novelty t-shirt places that smelled suspiciously like pot we got caught in a thunderstorm. Dashing into the nearest coffeeshop we paused to wait for the deluge to stop. Checking out my surroundings I noticed a group of guys taking it easy in the corner. I thought they looked familiar but brushed it off fairly quickly. Jay and I decided to chance the wet and ran out of the store.
Later that night we came back to Mass street and noticed the local club had a huge line up outside. Curious we went to go check what was up. Low and behold there was a sold out show for The Shins (If you've seen Garden State it's the band that Natalie Portman says will change your life. Just after the dog humps Zach Braff's leg.) It clicked for me then; the large bus that was out side the coffeeshop was a tour bus and the group of guys, well the band. Shows you how much I'm given over to celebrity. Would've been nice to ask some questions about their music. Some of their lyrics are out there.
Yep, that would be my near brush with a indie band of small repute. Almost is up there with the time I had dinner in the same restaurant as Cone from Sum 41..I'm just full of glamour and connections.

ah, I forgive ya Dee, who doesn't have bad days! When I get mad I just make it Dave's fault for not getting the leaky shower fixed yet, it usually works until my guilt overcomes me and I go crawling back into his arms w/ my head hung low, using Candice/Eric's baby language and saying something like "i'm sorry" but of course you wouldn't be able to understand me saying that....lol. Sounds like a cool day w/ your sister! Garden State...GREAT, odd, cool movie hey? Awesome!
