One plunged from the cuckoo's nest

Life can be strange at times. Particularly when you are over tired.
Cameron and I were hanging out in my room listening to the chirping of my budgie, enjoying a quiet moment. Then unfortuantely we decided to do that dreaded couple thing of getting into a talk about your relationship late at night. This normaly just leads to frusteration due to the fact that both of you are irrational due to sleepiness.
So off we went delving into the things that annoy the heck out of us, that we find in our loving (if not extremely vexing) partner. *sigh*
There is something about being up late and entering an emotional conversation where you're rational mind is shut off and you start saying rather unhinged wretched things that you shouldn't. Thankfully we aren't the yelling type and things don't get out of hand. It's never fun though.
Then suddenly I hear this noise from the corner of the room. I just knew what it was. My 12 year old budgie decided that this moment in time would be a great time to kack on me. The sound I heard was his body plunging from his perch to the bottom of his cage.( I've heard this noise twice before.The last time was when I was 12.) I rushed to his cage and held him as he gave his final little death throws and passed on.
That put an end to the argument. Both of us feeling sheepish about the argument now that a life had left the world. It was good timing on the birds part I guess. It kept us from flogging the things that irk us about each other. I guess Cam is only human after all. (stupid humanity...He should be perfect like me.)
Poor bird.
I miss his noise.
Ridiculous me.
Boy am I silly.
