KU and the ROCK CHALK chant
wow.
I never knew how crazy a game could be until I went to a KU basketball game...
Being a tame reserved Canadian who doesn't even break a sweat about hockey (unusual I know) I was thrown into the student section of seating in Allen Field House stadium and was thrown for a loop!
It was a match up between Oklahoma University and KU. Loud doesn't even begin to describe the frenetic activity during the game. there was even a player called Sasha Kaun whom I wanted to call Shaka Kan cause it was more funny. Then there was a OU guy who had some strange name like BookShelf of Book Case. He looked like a book case. And I never knew that 1.5 seconds can be drawn out to five minutes to end a game. Thankfully KU won by one point in the last few seconds of the game. They came from being down 16 points. It was nuts watching the fans run amok with joy when they won. I was a little freaked out at the beginning of the game when the crowd sang KU's alma mater song. They put their arms around complete strangers and sway back and forth singing away. Freaked me out having some crazed fan pratically hug me before the game started.
but it was fun and I'll always remember my sister taking me to a KU basketball game. (personally I think I like watching her row better, just don't tell Brandon Rush)

Yeah, tell me about it! Dave and I went to a HIGHSCHOOL football game last fall, and I thought some of those parents were gonna jump on the field and KILL the referees! Sports is serious stuff here! lol
