Five for Fighting? No, not the band. The Job.
My mission? Nanny five children. If I succeed I get the respect and admiration of nannies everywhere. Or at least good pay and a good day's work under my belt.
So I completed my first week and our hero is utterly exhausted. In between screaming two year olds and busy 9 year olds and talkative 10,12, and 13 year olds I'm wiped.
I now drive a 1990 cadillac and it is the ultimate pimp mobile (as pointed out to me by friends and family alike) It would be a good candidate for MTV's pimp my ride. Hilarity will comense now. Downer about the car is it tried to kill me on Saturday night in a snowstorm. 360 degree spin outs in white out conditions aren't my idea of a great time. I give props to the snow bank that kept me from knocking into the phone pole.
I made it up to my destination but didn't succeed in seeing two of my most favourite people for very long. Chris and Scott...I am sad. I shall try harder next time. I did get some fun time with some stellar LDP's and a lovely Pyl family. I love them dearly. They helped me realize that families of five aren't all crazy loud places.
Although I had to come out of Nanny mode. I threatened a few people with the time out chair. And I tried to make someone smile by making their pickle come to life. Mr. Pickle helped Mr. Grumpy pants Shaun smile.
Now I am home for another 24 hours and I shall return to the battle of the wills with the two year old. His favourite thing to yell at me is ' I don't love you, you're a mean girl, you're a bully!' To which I promptly reply, 'to bad I love you' and start to tickle him or turn him upside down. Hmmm maybe that's a tactic that could work on a future boyfriend? I could picture that break up right now...yikes.

Wow, thank you for the kind comments (I'm referring to being called one of your favourite people not the tickling because that is mean). I do wish we got to hang out just a tad more. I heard, a dandy game of Scattegories was happening but I was amidst trying to get Medeba water. I am holding two of your bowls/pots hostage for until you decide to make a return visit.
As for your future boyfriend, how small are you planning on him being? Turn him upside down? Are you going to date an elf? They aren't real, you know.
from a former nanny - hang in there, have fun with it, and don't try to entertain. otherwise you should make much more money!
